Fear, terror, horror, and deadly surprises, these were the thing that the Resident Evil franchise was known for at the beginning. But to many, the franchise lost its way as it grew. It became more about the action, and the killing of enemies than the horror that made the game famous. No more. For the developers of the series have now gone back to their roots to bring the terror of the game back, and it's now yours to experience in Resident Evil VII. But be warned, once you go in, you may not be able to get out.
You are Ethan Winters, a man who lost his wife years ago. Yet, to his surprise, he gets a call from her begging for his help. She's in Louisiana, and she's in trouble. You of course go racing to find her, and are able to trace her whereabouts to a plantation deep in the backwaters of the state. This Baker Manor is anything but quaint, and once you step inside, you find yourself in for the fight of your life.
For the residents aren't human, or at least, not anymore, you'll have to outrun them, get weapons to fight them, and do whatever you can to make it out, and try and find your wife in the process. This is the true return of horror to the Resident Evil series, as every turn could bring you one step closer to the Baker family, or the other evils that reside within the mansion....
