Galactic Civilizations III: Retribution is an expansion that brings long-forgotten alien artifacts which can be used to gain powerful abilities, incredibly potent new technologies, two new major civilizations, and most importantly, the end of the Galactic Civilizations III backstory that will show us the conclusion of the war between the Drengin Empire and the humans. This DLC is developed and published by Stardock Entertainment.

Galactic Civilizations III: Retribution brings a lot of new features to this space 4X strategy game, like ancient alien artifacts which can be found on planets, the Hypergates technology that the humans of Sol III invented, and more. See the climactic battle that will decide the fate of a species as the Drengin Empire discovered that the humans aren't to be underestimated as that mistake could be the thing that ends up being responsible for their extinction. The technology tree has been completely overhauled to have more depth and to impact the flow of the game more by giving your research options more importance. Players can use the new type of units, the supply Ships in order to bring goods and service from one planet to another.

Two new civilizations that are coming with this expansion are the Drath and the Korath. Drath are manipulative and prefer to pull the strings from the shadows while the Korath are a species that are hellbent on extermination. Both of these civilizations come with their own ship parts, unique bonuses, and special abilities.
