Death end re;Quest is here to take the entire turn-based RPG formula and flip it on its head. The game has been developed by Idea Factory, Compile Heart and published by Idea Factory International on May 16th, 2019.

Combining visual novel segments of the real world and the exhilarating RPG action makes the actuality of game development blur as you stop knowing the difference between reality and fantasy. One day, a video game programmer called Arata Mizunashi got a strange email. It was sent by his old colleague, Shina Ninomiya, that went missing a year or so ago. These two created a project together called W.O.D (short for World's Odyssey), which is a virtual landscape that uses powerful technology to power itself. Arata then realized that his colleague is stuck in W.O.D. and has been there for the past year. He tried to help by going back to his abandoned project, but he found it to be infested by strange bugs.

A sinister force won't let him extract Shina from the game. In order to save him, Arata has to complete the game and achieve the perfect ending. These characters need to work together, overcome many tasking obstacles, interact with NPCs that seem human even though they are AI, and experience a complex narrative that calls into question the difference between virtual worlds and our own!
