You Won’t Be Able To Trade With Other Players In Anthem
If there is something that players hate in games where there’s a lot of looting, that’s no player-to-player trading. This is a ridiculous way of saying that the developers are too lazy to balance the way you can acquire items. Their reasoning behind this is item farming and item selling, which can be a problem, but you create an even bigger problem when you don’t implement a feature that lets players trade between one another. A lot of games that added this restriction got a lot of negative backlash for it (Black Desert Online for example), but it seems like that isn’t stopping Bioware from leaving out player-to-player trading in Anthem.
Bioware’s shooter looks like a pretty interesting title, but to be honest, any game where you have a big world that you can explore by flying is awesome to us. But, this is a title where you will be doing missions, killing enemies, collecting loot, and the missing part of this cycle is trading. Maybe you have a certain weapon that is rare but you don’t need it, so you can trade it for another weapon that you want. The excuse of “player trading affects balance” is utter garbage, as MMORPGs have found lots of ways to incorporate player-to-player trading without affect balance at all.
Maybe Anthem gets some form of trading after launch, but it isn’t coming with the game right away, which is a shame.
