The recent Epic Games Store has now allowed anyone to refund any of the games bought on that site for any reason.
The Epic Games Store is constantly trying to improve, as we see now that they have a refund policy. One should have been implemented right at the start, since you need one, but it’s here now. What are the rules? Wee, they are quite simple. As stated by them, on their Epic Games Store Refund Policy section: “All games are eligible for refund within 14 days of purchase for any reason. However, you must have not played the game for more than 2 hours.”, which is quite a fair deal.
But, if they think that you are abusing the refund feature, you’re going to get into some problems. That’s how all these platforms work, but it is strange to see that they are adopting the same policy as Steam. The “for any reason”, if you’re wondering what that policy is, means that you can just refund the game if you comply with the rules. Which means you do it before 14 days pass after the purchase and you haven’t played the game for more than 2 hours.
Everyone is wondering if the Epic Games Store is going to be a worthy competitor to all the other digital game distribution platforms. They’re on the right path, for now at least. And they are the first ones to give out Super Meat Boy for free! We still aren’t a fan of the fact that they are getting time-exclusive deals on games, but hopefully they stop doing that in the near future.
