Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Gets Switch Release Date
When the Nintendo Switch was revealed, people were shocked when Skyrim was part of its “announcement commercial”. Bethesda hadn’t made a game for a Nintendo console in a very long time, so this was weird. Then, during a Nintendo Direct late last year, Bethesda revealed that Doom and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus would also be coming to the Switch. While Doom was interesting, everyone was shocked by Wolfenstein II, as the game was just about to release on other systems. However, the Switch version wasn’t going to be a simultaneous launch.
This was ok at first, as it was a new system and Bethesda was giving it to another team to work out, and that takes time. But, as the months went on, many wondered when we were ever going to get it. Well, now we know, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will release on Nintendo Switch on June 29th.
So that’s a little bit of a wait still, but it’ll likely be worth it in the end. The game is being developed for Switch by Panic Button, who made Doom for Switch as well as Rocket League. And the results of both of those games speak for themselves. Also, Bethesda clearly trusts them, and so should we.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus continues the storyline from the first game, where you play as BJ Blazkowicz, who had foiled one of the Nazi’s plans to take over the world, but knows that to truly get them out of power, he needs to get the US back on its feet. He and his allies must rally the resistance to defeat an absolutely insane leader and bring freedom back to the states.
The game was praised for not just its brutal storyline but its intense gameplay and expansion of the Wolfenstein world. And now, Switch owners will get to experience it too soon.
