There has been a wait for fans of the critically acclaimed Witcher 3 since the release of the Xbox One X, with players expecting to see an update to bring several improvements to the game. There has been silence on that front so far, though it seems now that CD Projekt Red will be bringing enhancements in time for Christmas.
Microsoft’s website lists the update as Coming Soon, having changed from In Development. This tends to indicate that the update will arrive in around a week’s time, so we should be enjoying an vastly improved version of the game very soon.
CD Projekt Red recently outlined the plans they had for the game: “With the additional power of the Xbox One X, we are able to deliver The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in 4K, while providing numerous visual tweaks such as higher-quality shadows, ambient occlusion & texture filtering, as well as higher resolution textures, and an all-around performance boost. Thanks to 4K, we can show everything our artists created with more detail. And it’s not just owners of a 4K TV who will benefit from the higher resolution. Thanks to supersampling, the leap in quality will be visible even on a 1080p screen.”
The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt is now available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
