It seems like there are quite a few sad things happening in the gaming industry. But, the saddest thing is definitely the fate of Telltale Games, one of the best companies when it comes to making narrative-driven games.
We never actually expected to see someone like Telltale Games go. While the company is not officially dead, they did let go a majority of their employees. It seems like their games didn’t sell as much as we thought they did. Which is definitely strange, considering how many solid games they have under their belt, especially with classics like The Wolf Among Us, which should have gotten a sequel.
The Walking Dead series has also been quite brilliant. Now, a tweet from Melissa Hutchison confirmed that after TWD: The Final Season Episode 2, that’s it. No Episode 3 or anything like that. We’re going to be left with an unfinished season, which was looking pretty spectacular. Our star, the badass teen Clementine won’t ever see the end of her story, and that makes us really sad. In this day and age, most kids and teens in games are annoying and corny. Clementine, on the other hand, behaved like a human would in situations that she found herself in.
We are really sad that we won’t see how TWD: The Final Season ends. Clementine will remain in our memories as the most badass girl that knew how to take care of herself. And she could kill zombies pretty efficiently for a child.
