Will Pokemon For Nintendo Switch Feature Generation 8?
Nintendo is on a roll right now with the Nintendo Switch. The console is selling out left and right, and its first year of software titles have made it the must-have system. Now into its second year, many gamers are curious as to what franchises will arrive on the system next. We received Kirby last month, a string of Wii U ports are coming next, and Super Smash Bros and Fire Emblem are slated to arrive sometime this year. Yet, there’s another franchise that fans are eager to hear more from, Pokemon.
Last year, Nintendo did a special Nintendo Direct Mini to which they announced that a Pokemon title would be coming to the Nintendo Switch, and they further confirmed that this would be a “core” title. But some weren’t sure what that meant. Well, if Nintendo’s Spanish Magazine is to be believed, the game will feature the 8th generation of the pocket monsters.
There have been rumors saying that it would be the 8th generation, but there have also been rumors stating that we could be in store for a “revisit” to a previous region. And Nintendo being Nintendo, they haven’t exactly been very forthcoming with information since that news bit dropped almost a year ago.
Needless to say, fans are very excited for Pokemon to get a core title on the Nintendo Switch. The 3DS titles, especially X&Y and Sun & Moon, helped advance the series greatly, and many expect the Switch version of the title to do the same.
The question is, can this be trusted? Though official, this magazine has published false or incorrect information before. Also, it’s not wise to trust Pokemon rumors because they often turn out to be wrong, such as the “Stars” Switch game that everyone was sure we were going to have announced last year.
We’ll just have to wait and see what Nintendo says about this.
