Pandemic: Fall of Rome isn’t about fighting diseases or anything of that sort. Well, you are going to fight various tribes which want to invade the Roman empire, so it ends up being the same thing.
These days we seem to come across many board games turned video games in the industry. That is both a good and a bad thing so to say. It’s good in the sense that it becomes more available to the public, and bad in that it loses its charm as a board game. It’s always somehow more fun to play board games in real life with a couple of friends, some drinks, some food. But, nevertheless, good video games are always welcome.
So, what do we do exactly in Pandemic: Fall of Rome? Well, your job is to keep the various tribes that surround Rome, out of it. The gameplay relays on the dice, which we don’t know much about. Not much is known about the combat as well, but the developers said in their announcement that more info is coming soon. While this isn’t a historical grand strategy like Europa Universalis IV, for example, but it might be something quirky and interesting in its own way.
We don’t actually know a lot about Pandemic: Fall of Rome. We do know that players will eventually be able to turn the enemy tribes into allies if they manage to keep them at bay long enough. That may be an interesting feature. Still, we’re waiting for more information, especially to see what the combat will look like.
