Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will have a mode which promotes exploration. Back in the day, games didn’t hold your hand when it came to quests and objectives. You had to find and solve them on your own.
Ever since Assassin’s Creed Origins came out, things changed. The Assassin’s Creed franchise took a turn, in our opinion, for the better. Not to say that the previous games before that one were bad, but at Unity, things become pretty bad. But, Ubisoft is on the right path once again, with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey featuring a mode with no map markers. What are we talking about? Well, remember the clutter on your map in previous games? All those map markers and quest markers could give you a headache if their number was sufficient. But, this mode makes it so these appear only when you come in contact with them.
Thanks to AccessTheAnimus that shared this information with all of us on Twitter. It was IGN that first mentioned this Exploration Mode, which basically lets you wander the open world and look for things yourself. What exactly do we mean by this? Well, markers or icons on your map no longer appear automatically unless you discover them yourself. Which also means no more annoying clutter that reminds you that there are things for you to do. You can just explore the world on your own and discover new quests and assassination targets.
Of course, there’s the Guided Mode as well, for those of you that want markers and quest objectives to be shown at all times. It’s nice to have both of these modes available to the players.
