Weapons And Interior Locations Play Big Parts In Far Cry 5
Far Cry 5 is a highly-anticipated title, and the more information that gets revealed about it, the more it proves why that’s an accurate thing. For Ubisoft is really putting as much as they can into this game not just for content’s sake, but to make the game very unique. We’ve been talking about new info and reveals for the game the last few days, and that continues here, as new information about weapons and where fights take place have come to light.
Usually, in Far Cry games, you have a lot of weapons at your disposal, and have an impressive variety of them too. Now, you will have that here in Far Cry 5, but, with an American twist. For the team wanted to make sure that every weapon in the game felt like it would belong in a county in Montana.
“You have your different types of weapons obviously, but we really wanted them to feel like they belonged in Montana,” said Lead Programmer Raphael Parent to US Gamer.
A good example of this is the bow and arrow, it’ll be in the game, but as a compound bow. The Slingshot also returns, but in a much more modern form, likened to ones you can get at Bass Pro Shop.
Now, as good as the weapons are, they mean nothing if the enemies who have them aren’t knowledgeable about them, and about their surroundings, Far Cry 5 will feature battles that take place indoors, which is kind of a first for the series. They’ve been in previous titles, but not to the extent you’ll find here, and as such, the game had to adapt to it all
“For our game, since we never really had many interiors, we also had to adapt our gameplay. We had to deal with windows, doors, and all these things.”
There were a lot of changes and adjustments that had to be made to make Far Cry 5 unique, and it’s clear that Ubisoft is working hard to fulfill its promise to gamers.
