WB Montreal Making Two New DC Comics Games?
When it comes to superhero games, they are usually defined by fighting game titles, or certain special open world games. Spider-Man 2 was the one that helped push things into the right direction when it came out. Then, the Batman Arkham series kicked down the door and proved how a comic book game should be handled (which Spider-Man on PS4 would mimic years later ironically enough.) The games not only looked good, but felt like we were in a true undeniable Batman game, and we had Rocksteady and WB Montreal to thank for that.
For four awesome titles we got to be the Batman, and then, it was over, and since then, many have wondered what the two teams were up to, with many rumors surfacing about potential titles that they could be working on. Now, an interview with a member of WB Montreal reveals that one DC Comics open world title is done, and another may be on the way.
This came from the Nerd Podcast Network, who talked with Osama Dorias and basically got him to confirm that one game that is based on a DC Comics property was complete, and that another is being worked on by him and the WB team right now.
The biggest guess that many have been speculating about is that a Superman title is on the way. Superman has been rumored for both WB Montreal and Rocksteady based on various teaser art and other social media posts. Given that Superman has NEVER had a significant video game in the past (and believe me, people have tried), it would be good to see him in a proper Arkham-Style video game.
Truly though, the question is…if one game is Superman…what is the other game about? True, Dorias didn’t say that the second game wasn’t a DC Comics property, but it would make sense to have them do another. Who do you think it might be?
