Walking Dead: The Final Season Gets Teaser Trailer
TellTale’s The Walking Dead series has been a big part of not only their gaming lineup over the past several years, but it’s their longest-running series. With both main seasons and several spinoffs, it’s covered a lot of ground in the universe. But all good things must come to an end, and on August 14th, Walking Dead: The Final Season will arrive, bringing the story of Clementine to a close. But in what way is very uncertain.
At San Diego Comic-Con, there will be a new gameplay trailer for the title, but ahead of that, IGN got to post a new teaser trailer for the story element of the season. If you recall, at the end of Season 3, Clementine left the safety of Richmond, along with many new friends she made, to go and find AJ and protect him. Well, if the trailer is to be believed, not only does she find him, she finds a lot of other people too.
Apparently, AJ is in some kind of sanctuary, one where kids like him and Clementine are protected. AJ wants to stay there, but Clementine isn’t so sure. She’s seen too many people turn, and she suspects that something will go wrong. Sure enough, in the teaser trailer, we hear someone tell Clementine that she and AJ are in danger.
While it’s unclear what the threat is, we do get glimpses of zombie attacks, mysterious strangers, and set pieces that clearly don’t bode well for her and AJ. But we’ll just have to see how it breaks down as the season arrives and progresses.
There’s going to be a lot of speculation from fans about how the game ends. Will it end with Clementine and AJ on the road, in a new home, or will they both not survive what happens in the season? We’ll find out starting on August 14th.
