Eric’s been a part of Ubisoft for 16 years. He was the lead designer for Black Flag. And he helped Assassin’s Creed reboot itself as an action RPG with his work on Origins. He was also the director of Valhalla, but now he’s moving on to other things.

Leaving Ubisoft for EA Motive is a timed decision, as Valhalla is almost done with new content. However, Motive is jam-packed with work as they’re working on a new Star Wars game. Their previous title, Star Wars Squadron, was loved by fans and critics, so it’s exciting to think about what terrific new world they’re preparing for us.

However, rumors are also spreading about a possible Dead Space remake. The interesting thing is that some think Motive is the one working on reviving the space survival franchise. We don’t know much about EA’s mysterious “old IP revival” but Eric moving to EA Motive is definitely a big power play. It’s safe to expect great and ambitious things from them.
