Ubisoft Details Rainbow Six Siege Year 3 Content
What makes a game is difficult to explain. But, what makes a game last long after its launch is very often due to the content within the title. For if people want to play a game for a long time, there has to be something to do. No doubt Ubisoft kept this in mind for Rainbow Six Siege, as they’ve been dishing out content for the game since launch in yearly packs. And now, we have some idea of what Year 3 for the game will be like.
Interestingly enough, Year 3 will be divided into 4 “seasons” of content. But what’s constant throughout all of them is the fact that each season will bring new Operators for players to control. Bringing eight new ones into the game by the time the year of content ends. And that’s just the beginning of it all. For there will also be new maps, a rework of a map, and a new event.
That’s right, Rainbow Six Siege is kicking off Year 3 of their content with a new event for players to play called “Outbreak”. Now, there are many different ways to interpret that. It could be a viral outbreak, which would lead your Operators to try and contain the virus before it infects the whole world. Or, it could be…a zombie outbreak, which is something many shooters have done over the years, so why not Rainbow Six Siege?
The Rainbow Six Invitational in Montreal in 2018 will reveal more details, although, we do know that the two Operators for the first pack are biohazard specialists. So maybe that tips their hand? The pass to buy the Year 3 content will arrive on December 12th.
And what an interesting date to release it, because five days previous to that, the game will be at The Game Awards, and possibly earn an award for “Best Ongoing Title”. Wouldn’t that be a hoot?
