Is “Trial Of The Gods” Too Hard In Assassin’s Creed Origins?
In video games, as in life, there is always a desire for challenge. To push yourself to new heights and depths in order to prove that you are the best there is no matter what. But, there are situations where the difficulty of the game can become a detriment, and not a plus. For while difficulty at times is applauded, when it’s unbalanced difficulty, or its just “wrong” difficulty, players notice. This appears to be what is happening with Assassin’s Creed Origins, for one of their free events has gotten the moniker of “far too difficult”.
In the game, unlike previous incarnations, you actually level up your character, and through leveling up you get to obtain more quests and sidequests that you can do. Well, in the endgame content there is a free event that pops up every now and again called “Trial Of The Gods”. Where, you will actually go up against gods like Anubis or Sobek. And being that these are gods, they’re pretty tall.
What’s also apparent though is that these gods are no joke when it comes to combat. They’re Level 40, and if you’re not even close to that level, you’ll get wrecked. Which is a big problem, because according to Kotaku, 4 out of every 10 players aren’t even to Level 20. In fact, one Kotaku reporter tried to take on a god at level 31, and got one-hi-KO’ed.
What’s worse though, is that players only have a week per god to beat them. So they’ll either have to binge the game to level up and then TRY to defeat the gods, which even at Level 40 is no easy feat, or try and wait it out, go at your own pace, and then hope they’ll return to Assassin’s Creed Origins.
According to Ubisoft, the gods will cycle through, so you will have another chance. But if you’re not at 40? You might not even want to try.
