Crossovers in video games are nothing new, but they can lead to some of the biggest and best games around when done right. For example, when the RTS franchise Total War mixed with the realm of Warhammer, a game so great was made that it was a Game of the Year nominee for many. So then, this year, Total War: Warhammer II came out, and told a new story for players to enjoy, with legions of new soldiers to command. But now, players are going to have to get ready to face a new threat: The undead.
For this January, Total War: Warhammer II will bring the expansion called Rose of The Tomb Kings, and with their rise comes a new desire for conquest, and new enemies to both fight, and control.
“Across the arid wastes of once-proud Nehekhara, legions of skeletal warriors and vast, terrifying constructs rise from the sands to serve their ageless masters. The Tomb Kings have awoken – to rebuild their glorious empire anew!”
Now, ironically enough, unlike previous expansions for the game, Rise of the Tomb Kings, does not include an action campaign for you to complete. Instead, this expansion focuses on the legions of the Tomb Kings, as well as their leaders. The Tomb Kings have four different leaders that you can be. You can choose to be Settra The Imperishable, High Queen Khalida, Grand Hierophant Khatep, or Arkhan the Black. Each of whom has their own unique skills and bonuses.
That being said, you can use the Tomb Kings and their units in the Eye of Vortez and Mortal Empires campaigns. Which will be a great way to test your skills with the faction. Add to that special quest lines for the faction, and you got a completely new experience.
The expansion will arrive on January 23rd.
