Total War: Rome II Will Receive a New DLC

Recently, the Creative Assembly team announced the creation of a major content update for the Total War: Rome II strategy, called Ancestral Update aimed at improving the graphics component of the game, as well as adding various features, for example, the family tree. Now, the creators have announced yet another set of new content that goes by the name Rise of the Republic.

The DLC will take us back to the 4th century BC, when the existence of a young republic was threatened by aggressive neighbors. Whether Rome will manage to survive under their onslaught and achieve greatness, will depend on us.

The story of the new campaign will unfold on the map of Italy and the surrounding territories. In the struggle for power, players will be able to visit Sicily, Carthage, Sardinia and Corsica. In total, 9 factions with unique bonuses will take part in the fight.

The year is 399 BC, and Rome is poised for greatness. However, its very existence balances on a knife-edge. The Gallic Senones tribe, led by chieftain Brennus, are newly settled in eastern Italy. Ambitious and fierce, they are but a javelin-throw from the nascent republic. The tyrannical Dionysius rules Syracuse with an iron fist. He leads the war against Carthage, but his eyes range across the Mediterranean as he considers future conquests…

Rise of the Republic will be released on August 9, along with the Ancestral Update.
