These Are The Top Selling Steam Games Of 2018
Each year Steam shows us which titles are the top-selling games, meaning which ones made the most amount of money.
Only a couple of new games on this list, which is quite surprising. Keep in mind, these are the games that generated the most amount of revenue. This isn’t a list that shows the titles which sold the most copies or anything like that. As you can see, Warframe and DOTA 2 are on the list, both free2play games with incredible amounts of content, and yet they sit at the top of the money-generating machine. Don’t ever let people tell you that free2play games can’t make some cash.
It’s quite surprising to see Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Civilization VI, and Far Cry 5 here. They are all fine games, with the new Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry entries being above average, surprising fans of the franchises in all kinds of ways. Civ VI got quite a lot of negative reviews at the start, and even know the game has Mixed User Reviews, so it’s a surprise that the game generated so much revenue.
Monster Hunter: World, the first Monster Hunter entry on the PC also seems to be doing quite well and selling quite fine. We even see Elder Scrolls Online on this list, which is an MMORPG that isn’t talked about all too often. PUBG, that infamous battle royale that just keeps chasing players away with bad development decisions is also selling amazingly, which is strange considering how much hate the game is getting.
Lastly, we have Rocket League, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Rainbow Six Siege. Rocket League is one of the most enjoyable and quirky games out there, so it isn’t a surprise that it’s making so much money. CS: GO is also a shooter that has been present for a while now, and it is one of the best shooters available on the market. Then we have Rainbow Six Siege, a tactical shooter with a steep learning curve but also amazing payoff once you get the hang of things. It’s a shooter with a high-skill ceiling that rewards smart and creative thinking. There aren’t many games like it out on the market.
Those are the games that made the most amount of money on Steam in 2018. Are there any games on this list that surprise you? If so, tell us why in the comments section down below!
