The RPG with unit formations and time travel that reminds every one of Dragon Age: Origins, The Waylanders RPG, has been funded.
Now, we covered this game before. Mostly because we think that Dragon Age: Origins is one of the best RPGs out there. So, naturally, when we heard that there’s a game similar to it we wanted to check it out. From what we saw, The Waylanders RPG does hold a lot of potential to be something highly impressive. It has been successfully funded on Kickstarter, so all the money they needed is there. What the devs need to do now is impress us. Show the people that their money isn’t being wasted.
Everyone knows of cases when video game developers present a spectacular idea, get a lot of money, and then disappear. Granted, this hasn’t happened in a while, but these days developers just keep taking more money but never deliver the game they promised. But, the devs of The Waylanders RPG seem like nice people, with some terrific ideas for their fantasy RPG.
To be honest, ever since we heard that this title is like Dragon Age: Origins, our interest peaked immeasurably. Now, with the formations feature, the incredible amount of skills available, and how the story looks, this can be something great.
The only complaint we had is that the animations and particle effects looked a bit underwhelming. But, this are minor issues, which will probably be fixed later down the line. We can’t wait to get a look at The Waylanders RPG once it gets polished up a bit!
