The Spider-Man PS4 Is Being Scalped On eBay
One of the biggest trends in gaming over the last few console generations is the idea of console skins. I.E. putting a famous video game character or video game design on the console to make it stand out from the “basic” version. These special systems are often limited edition, and getting them is a real treat. But, in contrast, the fact that there aren’t that many makes them prime targets for those who would buy them and then sell them for more cash. Such is the case with the Spider-Man PS4 Pro.
The upcoming Spider-Man game for PS4 from Insomniac is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and so a console being designed after the legendary wall-crawler is a very understandable move. But with the console’s arrival and pre-order, some are trying to game the system by selling them on sites like eBay for very ridiculous prices.
The most mind-boggling part of all of this is that the console isn’t even sold out yet. On Amazon, it’s not available, but many other sites are still offering it. So it makes you wonder why these people are putting it on eBay for several hundred dollars more than its actual price when people can get it for the regular price still.
Maybe they don’t think they’ll notice, maybe they’re waiting for the “right person” to “not take a chance” and get the console now before the others go sold out, it’s not clear.
One thing that is clear though is that this PS4 Pro is a really good-looking system, and it’s the perfect accompaniment for the Spider-Man game. Which, by the way, is looking to be one of the premiere titles of the year, not just for PS4, but for all of gaming.
The game is set to arrive on September 7th.
