The New Expansion For Destiny 2 Coming Soon
The announcement of the next Destiny 2 expansion was rather surprising, as we weren’t expecting any new content this soon. The game’s second expansion, titled Warmind, is releasing on May 8th. We got to see Bungie’s development roadmap which shows what new content and features we will be getting in the future, and now we know that the release of Warmind marks the beginning of Season 3.
As you could have expected from a new Destiny 2 expansion, Warmind is bringing brand new heroes, new dangerous enemies to fight, shiny new loot to find, and new activities to keep us busy until more content comes. Not a lot of info was shared about Warmind, but there will be a live stream on April 24th which will give us more information about the expansion, so keep an eye out for that!
Now, what are Bungie’s plans for Season 3? First of all, the way the Crucible content is delivered to players is going to change. They said in their official post:
For every player of Destiny 2, we’ll be releasing all of the new Crucible Maps being developed for Warmind into matchmaking. The same goes for the maps we released with Curse of Osiris.
Their plan is to keep the Crucible community united. The new arenas will appear in all sorts of matchmade playlists like Competitive, Iron Banner, Quickplay, and so on. The arrival of Private Matches means that you need to buy each Expansion if you want to play these Crucible maps in a private Destiny 2 match.
