The Last Of Us Part II Gets New Gameplay Details
Sony came into E3 2018 with the goal of showing off some of their biggest titles coming to the PS4. So, naturally, they held a big section of time for The Last Of Us Part II. The trailer for it is still causing shockwaves throughout the community, and as for the gameplay, details are still being leaked out about what will and won’t be a part of it. For example, unlike the first game, you’ll be playing as Ellie and Ellie alone. But that only scratches the surface of it.
The team at Dualshockers got to chat with the Naughty Dog crew and talk about the new gameplay features in The Last Of Us Part II. And it’s clear that many major changes were made to ensure that the game was more evolved than the original.
For example, because of the different body types between Joel and Ellie, their fighting styles are going to be significantly different.
You’re going to have a lot more options in the game strategy wise. This will allow you to complete certain tasks and combat situations with more than one approach. But be warned, the AI in the game has been seriously upgraded. In The Last Of Us Part II, your enemies will actually coordinate with each other, call them out by each others names, and full-on strategize with one another. You’ll have to counter with your own strategies to survive.
Furthermore, enemies will use a variety of different weapons, will attack in different ways, and even interact with Ellie differently, so you can’t use the same single strategy for all of them.
Ellie’s offensive capabilities will be quite significant here. She’ll be able to upgrade her weapons, as well as craft new ones, and she’s got some new defensive techniques as well.
All of this is aimed to make The Last Of Us Part II a true evolution.
