The Game Awards Are Tonight
While the year is almost over (can you believe it?), there are still a few major dates that need to be crossed off before the year in gaming is over. And one of them is tonight, for The Game Awards will be airing all over the world, and with that, comes the promise of many new announcements. Geoff Keighley, the host of the event, is promising 10 brand new game announcements, as well as updates on several major existing games. So all in all, the show looks to be bigger and better than ever.
To further hype up people for the show, a press release was sent out teasing more of what was to come:
Talent schedule to appear includes Jonah Hill, Christoph Waltz, The Russo Brothers (Avengers), Pepe the King Prawn, Aisha Tyler, Joel McHale, Rosa Salazar, Rivers Cuomo, Brendon Urie, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, JackSepticEye, Phil Spencer (Xbox), Jeff Kaplan (Blizzard), Shawn Layden (PlayStation) and more surprise guests and game developers to be announced.
It won’t just be game announcements though, there will also be musical performances:
Throughout the night, The Game Awards Orchestra, conducted by composer Lorne Balfe, will celebrate the rise of video game music with a series of performances featuring special guests, composers Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams, Lena Raine (nominee, Celeste), and Sarah Schachner. In addition, the song “Devil Trigger” from the upcoming game Devil May Cry 5 will receive a rousing live performance.
