RPG trilogies are a big backbone of our gaming society. Mainly because trilogies are a nice round number when it comes to story. But in recent years, one trilogy has earned its place as one of the best RPG stories and titles ever made, The Banner Saga. This beautifully made title has wowed gamers with its great animated graphics, its intense gameplay, deep story, and the visible consequences of your actions. And now, the final entry in that series, The Banner Saga 3, has a release date.
The team at Stoic Studio have confirmed that the game will release on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on July 24th. For those wanting the Switch version, that one will come a little later. Likely to ensure that the first two games, which are going to be ported to the Switch, are given plenty of breathing room.
To help celebrate this, as well as show of a pre-order bonus, Stoic has released a new trailer for the game.
Another special offer that’s coming for The Banner Saga 3 is a special edition via 505 Games. They’ll be releasing a physical version of the series that contains all three titles, a soundtrack, an art book, a cool poster and a special in-game item. Note: this will only be for the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game.
If you’ve never played The Banner Saga before, it’s a tale of Vikings as you try and transport a caravan of people across tough terrain in order to find a new home. However, the journey will be long, difficult, and brutal. Your choices will push everything forward, and it can result in the death of characters.
There are many different characters for you to recruit and use in battle. But that also means they can all die. Your decisions will help decide the fate of the people in your care and how the new world is shaped.
