TellTale Games is one of the most respected video game developers out there, mainly because they’ve proven over the years that they can take established properties and deliver original stories that can make fans want more. Their episodic content is well-known throughout the gaming world, and when a new “season” arrives, it’s usually highly anticipated. However, they had to start somewhere, and that was with The Walking Dead, which released its first episode ever six years ago yesterday. As such, the team decided to pay tribute to it.
They released a video on Twitter, which features the cast and crew behind the game talking about how their take on the Walking Dead universe grew from where it started to where it is now. For those who have never played it, the game takes place in the beloved universe, but with a new cast of characters, and starring a young girl named Clementine, who players guide through many trials in order to survive.
The game has had three dedicated seasons, along with two spinoffs featuring fan-favorite character Michonne and another take on the main story with 400 days. But this year, the series is going to end with its fourth main season, and Clementine will be there for the end of it.
Unlike Season 03, The New Frontier, where a new set of characters were added to be the focus of the story and THEN Clementine was added, it appears The Walking Dead Season 04 will be all about Clementine and what will be her final journey. We have confirmation that she is looking for her “little brother”, who was taken away from her in Season 03. Aside from that though, we don’t know much.
If you wish to catch on things, all three seasons are on Steam and other platforms right now. If you’re a fan of the series, be sure to pay tribute to it yourself on Twitter if you can.
