Team Kaliber Wins Second Call Of Duty: WWII Tournament In A Row
eSports is a big part of gaming these days. And many AAA titles have their own special eSports tournaments to help celebrate the best of the best. One of them is the Call of Duty World League, which has tournaments all over to help prove who the best are. These teams of four take on other teams in intense battles across numerous maps and modes, leading to high-stakes battles with a lot of money and prizes on the line. The latest CWL event took place in New Orleans and featured a great Call of Duty: WWII matchup.
The finals of the tournament came down to Team Kaliber and Luminosity Gaming. The two actually met in the Winner’s Bracket finals, where Kaliber came on top, forcing Luminosity to work their way through the Loser’s Bracket in order to get to the Grand Finals. In the finals, there was a back-to-back series due to Luminosity stunning Kaliber in the first set.
With the second (and final) series had close matchups in just about every mode. With Kaliber and Luminosity being at each other’s throats in terms of battles and shots. From Hardpoint, to Search and Destroy, to Capture the Flag, every single fight was a true war. But, in the end, Team Kaliber would not be denied, and they took the final match to win 3-2. This is actually Kaliber’s second Call of Duty World League victory in a row, for they won CWL Dallas last year in convincing fashion.
To the victors go the spoils, and in this case, that’s $80,000 and 25,000 Pro Points (which goes to get them into other tournaments in the World League).
If you’ve never watched a Call Of Duty World League event, you should honestly consider it, there’s a lot of drama and intensity, and this can be gaming at its finest. Plus, it’s fun to see how others play Call of Duty: WWII.
