Super Meat Boy For Nintendo Switch Getting Special Mode
When it comes to defining a genre, video games often take different paths to get there. Sometimes the world sets it apart from the others. Other times it’s the visuals, which are so epic or so original they can’t help but be the standard bearer. However, the one that many people take as the true definition of the genre is how the game plays. With platforming games, it seemed like they were either very simple, yet fun, or very brutal and challenging. When Super Meat Boy arrived, it proved just how fun the latter could be.
The entire premise of Super Meat Boy is insane to think about. For it’s literally about a being made of meat who is off on a quest to save his girlfriend (who just so happens to be comprised of bandages) from an evil fetus…no, we’re not making this up. But saving her isn’t just a challenge, it’s a brutal challenge. Yet, fans loved it, and Team Meat has been making sure more and more people play it and are never bored with it. To that end, the upcoming Nintendo Switch version of the game will be getting an all-new mode!

According to the team, Race Mode has been something they’ve been wanting to put into the game since 2010. Thus, with the arrival of Super Meat Boy Forever (the Switch version of the game) they felt it was the perfect time to introduce it. As you can tell from the pic in the tweet, this mode seems to be a 2-player versus mode of sorts. Whether it will apply to online functions is unknown at present.
This is but one feature that will separate the Switch version of Super Meat Boy from the rest. You’ll have to find out how much when it releases in January.
