Oh God, who in their right mind could come up with a region as eerie as this. Sunless Skies, a game set in the early 20th Century, has a brand new region called Eleutheria, and it looks rather bone-chilling.
Sunless Skies is an Early Access title which already features plenty of scary beings and structures. There are plenty of things in that game that can startle you quite a bit, and the cosmic horror vibe also turns up the atmosphere by quite a lot. It is an atmospheric title, with quite a lot of eerie things in it, but that isn’t anything special. Have you seen the trailer for the Eleutheria region? No? Oh boy, you have no idea what you’re about to see.
Now that you’ve seen the trailer, how much are your legs shaking right now? Yes, the developers of these Fallen London-type games know how to unnerve a person with a sinister atmosphere that sends shivers down your spine. Most of the things in the game right now give us goosebumps, but this Eleutheria region goes way over that level. This region comes with lots of other content, for example, seven new Stations, three new Platforms, three new agents, two new Spectacles, and more.
Unlike Sunless Sea, Sunless Skies seems to have improved combat, and overall the game seems like it’s going a step beyond in terms of everything. It is still in Early Access, but from what we’ve seen, this is a promising title with a lot of potential.
