Capcom may not be the best developer when it comes to giving us what we want (more games on Switch, and where the heck is Darkstalkers?), but do know a thing or two about crossovers. And not just game crossovers like Marvel Vs. Capcom or Project X Zone, but smaller ones. They love having items or costumes from one of their franchises coming into another one. Which is perfect, because that’s exactly what they’re doing with Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition to celebrate the release of Monster Hunter: World.
Monster Hunter: World arrives tomorrow on PS4 and Xbox One, and then, starting next month, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will start a monthly event for you to get some special costumes from the game. These costumes will be for Ken, R. Mike, and Ibuki, and they can only be obtained through the Extra Battle Mode that the game has, which means you’re going to be putting in some work.
For those who haven’t used the Extra Battle Mode yet, Capcom detailed what’s going to happen on their blog. Basically, there’s going to be a monthly challenge through the mode to get the costumes. Every week in the month of February (and further months) there will be a challenge, you must complete the challenge in order to try and get the costume. These challenges cost Fight Money, so be prepared for that. If you are successful, and get all four challenges done, that costume is yours.
There are three costumes in total, so that’s 12 challenges you’ll need to complete if you want to get them all. Think you’re up to the challenge?
This isn’t the only thing that Capcom is doing for Monster Hunter: World’s release. In fact, they teamed up with Guerrilla Games to bring outfits from Horizon: Zero Dawn into their title. So again, they know how to do a crossover.
