There’s no doubt that Mass Effect: Andromeda was a disappointment from some angles for many players. Critics and fans alike heavily criticized the game at launch from a number of reasons, perhaps most famously for the laughable issues with character animations. This response was naturally not one that EA was expected, and has since shut down the game’s development studio BioWare Montreal.
So with that, the future of the franchise is very much unclear. More immediately so, as not only will fans worry that they won’t be getting a sequel, but the future of Mass Effect: Andromeda is also up in the air where single player DLC is concerned. Neither BioWare nor EA have spoken out about what fans can expect in that regard, leading many to question where the franchise is heading, if anywhere.
Despite it’s struggles at launch, Mass Effect: Andromeda did offer up a decent game, with an engaging narrative to follow, though many questions have indeed been left unanswered. Only time will tell what will happen next in the series, but it is looking pretty bleak at the moment.
Mass Effect: Andromeda, the latest entry in the franchise, is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
