State of Decay was a pretty fun survival game. It allowed you to kill zombies, build a community, scavenge for supplies, and more. It was an entertaining experience, but it was lacking some kind of co-op. Thankfully, State of Decay 2 fixes that, and now we got a PAX-East trailer which shows off the game’s beautiful scenery.
Even though it’s not the prettiest game around, State of Decay 2 definitely looks like it’s improving on all the things that made the first game great. You will still run around the map, killing zombies or running them over with a vehicle, you’ll look for supplies, search for outposts, and do your best to make your community happy. The biggest plus is with the sequel, you get to do all of that with a friend or two. That was actually the biggest complaint the players had about the first one, and so the developers decided to incorporate that into State of Decay 2, which is great. Have you played the first game? Did you find it enjoyable? It’s not your regular survival game, and that’s actually where the appeal lies. There’s something really interesting about building a whole community up from scratch and taking care of them. Killing the undead is also fun in its own right, but making sure that your group of people survives the apocalypse is even better.
