Star Wars Battlefront II is without a doubt one of the most controversial games of the year, mainly because of EA’s decision to focus on microtransaction and incredibly difficult progression instead of refining the gameplay so that all could play it and love it. But, despite all the wrongdoings, they are doing some things right, including releasing some new DLC to go along with the latest movie in the Star Wars saga: The Last Jedi. And that content is out right now.
First off, two characters from the new trilogy, and who will be a big part of The Last Jedi, have been added to the Hero characters roster. First, is Finn, the Stormtrooper turned Resistance fighter. Then, there’s Captain Phasma, a Captain in the First Order, and one of the few female soldiers in the First Order that we know about.
Both characters earned some hype going into The Force Awakens, and Finn got the better end of that film. But with The Last Jedi, it looks like Phasma might finally get her due. So enjoy her in the game before the film arrives.
Next, the game brings forth a few new maps for you to have fun on. The first of which is Crait, a mineral planet that will feature the First Order versus the Resistance in Galactic Assault. Then, there’s D’Qar, which is a base noted in The Force Awakens, that will be playable in Starfighter Assault. There’s also a new vehicle in the mix via Tallie’s A-Wing.
But, the biggest thing might just be that the story of Battlefront II is getting three new chapters called Resurrection. Given how the main game’s story ended, it’s likely this will try and tie up many of the loose ends that players have noted.
So, will this, and the balance changes that also came with the DLC update, change the game for the better? Well, that’s up to you dear reader.
