Star Wars Battlefront II Dev Teases More Arcade Additions, Clone Wars Content
Star Wars Battlefront II was one of the most controversial games last year, the game was built to try and be better than its predecessor, and in some ways it definitely succeeded. But, a focus on Loot Boxes, an incredibly difficult progression system, and other fallacies on the part of EA and DICE made it a hot topic for players and critics, and since then, EA has been playing catchup to try and fix it all, including an overhaul of the progression system that’s coming in March.
But, that’s not the only thing fans are asking about, there’s a lot of content and questions that they have. So, they went to Twitter to get answers. Specifically, they went to the design director Dennis Brannvall, who happily answered some questions. First, a player asked if more stuff for Arcade Mode was coming, as the player really enjoyed the offline aspect of things. Brannvall replied:
“We’re not ignoring our PvE audience! Arcade is doing really well, so of course we’re eager to make more content for it!”
It should be noted that he said “eager to make more” which could mean they’re not making any at present.
The other question he was asked was about map content and playlists. A player loves the Clone Wars era of Star Wars, yet apparently, he rarely gets to play as the Clone Troopers in the maps. So, he wanted to know if a “Clone Wars Playlist” was coming. Brannvall replied with “Yes, coming.”
It’s a step in the right direction for sure, and other teases have been made as to what’s coming, including new Hero characters like Anakin Skywalker, and maybe even being able to set up your own private matches.
Let’s hope that EA continues to push forward in this way, as it might bring some more players into Star Wars Battlefront II.
