One of the things that has kept many involved with Star Trek Online is that the game continues to pull from all aspects of the Star Trek line. From the shows, to the movies, and everything in between, the game both respects, and expands upon that content. Recently, the game celebrated Deep Space 9 with the event “Victory Is Life”. And now, for the first time, the newest show in the beloved series is coming to the game, for the “Age of Discovery” is coming.
This new event will let you take part in a journey that takes place within the Discovery timeline, which if you didn’t know was set a few decades before Captain Kirk took control of the Enterprise. And in this event, you’ll get to help the Discovery solve a mystery and fight Klingons alongside your sister ship the USS Glenn.
Here’s the official synopsis for the event:
“Age of Discovery opens in the year 2256, just after the Battle at the Binary Stars. In the wake of a brutal war against the Klingons, Starfleet Captains now face J’Ula, matriarch of the House of Mo’Kai and sister of T’Kuvma, who seeks to alter the destiny of the Alpha Quadrant. Players must rely on the help of fellow Starfleet Academy Cadet Sylvia Tilly (voiced by Mary Wiseman), who has come home to assist with training and see them off on their first assignment. From there, they will journey to iconic locations from Star Trek: Discovery, like the Dilithium Mines of Corvan II, explore the new experimental Crossfield class Starship, the U.S.S. Glenn, and defend Starbase 1 from a fearsome attack by the Klingon House of D’Ghor.”
With a second season of Star Trek: Discovery coming, it’s fair to say that this won’t be the last time we see this ship or its crew.
