Square Enix Reveals E3 Special Event
In just over a month, E3 2018 will arrive, one of the biggest gaming events of the year. And arguably, the most important. For Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony will take their respective stages to show off the future of their systems. However, many video game developers will also be taking the stage to show off what they have in store. Including Bethesda, EA, Ubisoft, and now, Square Enix. For they announced via Twitter that they will be showing off a pre-recorded stream to highlight future titles.
In fact, the full message said:
Save the Date! The Square Enix E3 Showcase 2018 – Monday June 11 at 10 AM PDT/1PM EDT/6pm BST Join us for a special video presentation to discover the exciting future of Square Enix!
Going the pre-recorded route is smart, especially since much of Square Enix’s “higher-ups” don’t usually take to the stage in the US. Also, it allows them to perfectly show off what they want without fear of slip-ups of technical issues. Which is likely why Nintendo has been doing this for their E3 presentations for a couple years now.
Now, as for what to expect from the presentation, we have a few guesses. First, we fully expect to see more from the recently revealed Shadow Of The Tomb Raider, which got a full trailer recently. We wouldn’t be surprised if there were some small clips of gameplay too.
Another likely candidate for arrival is Octopath Traveler, the exclusive for the Nintendo Switch. The game has been getting a lot of hype, and will release basically a month after the presentation.
But, of course, the games that everyone WANTS to see is Kingdom Heart III and Final Fantasy VII Remake. They want to see the former to hopefully get both a new trailer and a release date for the game. As for Final Fantasy VII Remake, they just want to see if it’s still alive.
A month to go until we see what they reveal.
