Splatoon 2 Tweet Shows Off Octoling Transformation
Nintendo has been on a major roll, ever since last March when it launched the Nintendo Switch. Ever since then, they’ve been release major titles and games that have been making a lot of gamers happy. This includes Splatoon 2, the second game in the beloved franchise. Since its launch last July, gamers have been inking, splating, and battling one another (and teaming with one another) for fun, glory, and eggs. But now, things are going to be changing this Summer with the Octo Expansion.
If you didn’t hear, the Octo Expansion will be the first paid DLC for the Splatoon franchise, but it’ll be worth it. For not only is there a brand new storyline for you to partake in, but if you complete it, you’ll be able to play as an Octoling in the main game. The Splatoon 2 Twitter feed decided to have some fun and show off how the Octolings look when whey transform, move around, and launch into the air. Here is the tweet.
As you can in the tweet, the Octolings octopus form is noticeably different from the Squidlings squid form. Which makes sense, after all, they’re entirely different creatures. And thus, they should look different.
The Octo Expansion focuses on an Octoling called Agent 8, who wakes up in a subway station with no memory of who they are. They listen to some Squid Sisters music and realize that there is a world up there that they can be a part of. You’ll battle through 80 new levels in order to reach the surface, but once you do, you’ll be a part of Inkopolis.
Nintendo has promised that this new expansion won’t just be gameplay focused, but also delve deeper into the lore. Which has already been shown with the return of certain key characters from the original game.
