South Park is one of the longest-running and most controversial shows in the history of television. Depending on who you talk to, it’s either one of the great things ever made, or, it’s complete garbage. But, you could say that because everyone has an opinion on it, that’s what makes it great. South Park has made its mark on video games in the past, but with very mixed results. Then, an idea was had to go full-stop, to make the greatest South Park ever. From that idea came South Park: The Stick Of Truth.
Made by Obsidian, and published by Ubisoft, South Park: The Stick Of Truth was a game that took the world of South Park, literally the world of South Park, and wrapped it all up in an epic RPG adventure. The game was well-beloved and sold millions, and even got a sequel in South Park: The Fractured But Whole. And now, Ubisoft has revealed that The Stick Of Truth will get physical releases on Xbox One and PS4.
Why the sudden urge to do this? Well, when The Fractured But Whole came out, it bundled the original one digitally via certain deals. But, there are a lot of people who want physical copies of their games, so Ubisoft is now making that happen here. What’s even better though, is that South Park: The Stick Of Truth won’t be full price, it’ll only cost $29.99.
Ubisoft even gave a special description for the hit game’s new release:
“South Park: The Stick of Truth, the winner of numerous 2014 game of the year awards, transports players to the perilous battlefields of the fourth-grade playground, where a young hero will rise, destined to be South Park’s savior. From the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, comes an epic quest to become… cool.”
The game will re-release on February 13th.
