Sledgehammer Games Are Developing Call of Duty 2021
Activision confirms that Sledgehammer Games are working on Call of Duty 2021, which will be a next-generation experience.
Shooters these days don’t have a lot of room for innovation it seems. They’ve done futuristic wars, modern wars, the World Wars. I think the best thing is to just add grappling hooks to all shooters. You can never go wrong with those.
Anyway, Activision finally confirmed it. Sledgehammer Games are the ones working on Call of Duty 2021. Leaks suggest that the game is set in World War II. They’ve made CoD games before like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Call of Duty: WWII. But they also helped Infinity Ward and Treyarch with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), and Cold War.
The Activision Q1 earnings call said the game is set to arrive sometime this fall and will be a next-generation experience. Like Cold War before it, Call of Duty 2021 will affect Warzone when it releases as well. The tweet announcing their 2021 project was met with various responses. Some want another Advanced Warfare title, others don’t want another WWII Call of Duty game. Yet, the leaks point to just that, another World War II setting.
