Skyrim Has Officially Launched on Nintendo Switch
When the Nintendo Switch had its “reveal commercial” last year, it showed off many things. But what caught the eye of most was that Skyrim appeared on the console. This was both intriguing and special as no Bethesda game has ever made it onto a Nintendo console, ever. There was some back-and-forth whether this was for real, and then at the true reveal event in January, Todd Howard game in to confirm that the game was coming to the Switch. And now, ten months later, the arrival of Skyrim has come.
Now, another debate that people have had was which edition was the Switch getting? Well, while we can’t speak to the graphical quality (as you’ll have to judge that for yourself), we can confirm that all the official DLC for the game is included. So, that means you’ll get not only the massive main game, but also Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn as well.
But wait! There’s more! Because this is the Nintendo Switch version of Skyrim, there’s a lot of other things players can expect. For example, as was teased by Nintendo and Bethesda, there’s going to be some special Legend of Zelda items in the game based off of Breath of the Wild. This includes Links outfit, the Master Sword, Hylian Shield, Rupees, and even the classic treasure chest with chest opening sound effect.
Plus, since the Switch is a multi-purpose console, you can use the motion controls to do certain things in the game like fight and pick locks. And of course, it’s a mobile platform, so you can take Skyrim on the go and literally play it anywhere in the world!
Nintendo fans are hoping that all of Bethesda’s games sell well on the Switch, because if they do, they could lead to more releases on the system from the developer.
