Middle-earth: Shadow of War players on Steam have reported that the Steam Family Sharing feature was not supported for the game.
The Steam Family Sharing feature was first brought in back in 2013, which gave players the chance to share their game libraries with family and friends. Whilst there are some limitations, with some games not supporting it, there is a platform there to share your entire game library with others.
With the recent controversies over the game’s implementation of the dreaded microtransactions and loot boxes, this will not come as welcome news to many players. According to fans on Reddit, some have refunded the game simply because it doesn’t in fact support the Steam Family Sharing entity, which wouldn’t bode well for the sequel.
Previously, Shadow of War would allow you to purchase the game on Steam, though the purchase button would appear where games would normally say “Play” on the Family Sharing feature. Now, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has responded, and resolved the issue for everyone, including “those who were impacted previously.”
Middle-earth: Shadow of War, the highly anticipated follow up to the 2014 release of Shadow of Mordor, is now available to players on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
