Sega Announces Total War Spin-Off Series
Sega and Creative Assembly have revealed plans for a brand new class of historical Total War games, ones that will be launched under the moniker of “A Total War Saga”. This spin off series will be released before the next major historical entry, so its great news for fans of the genre who will have plenty of content to get through.
The game director of the debut Total War Saga title, Jack Lusted, outlined recently what fans could expect in this new brand of Total War experience, which will apparently build on previous titles, focusing on pivotal moments in each era. This includes focus on civil wars, political upheavals and renowned conquests. Lusted stated: “Total War Saga games will be the same mix of turn-based campaign strategy, real-time battle tactics, and hundreds if not thousands of hours of gameplay as a regular Total War game, but focused down on a distinct moment.”
For comparison’s sake, Total War Saga will follow on from ROME II and ATTILA in a similar fashion as Fall of the Samurai did for SHOGUN II, with Fall of the Samurai serving as a best-selling standalone follow up in its own right. By using this method, Total War Saga hopes to bring new challenged to certain geographical areas going forward.
