Secret Of Mana Update Could Come To Nintendo Switch
There’s been a big trend as of late to bring back the classic games of the early console generations and remake them via the graphics and gameplay systems we have now. Some have been simple remasters, but then you have games like Final Fantasy VII Remake and Secret Of Mana, which are getting fully rebuilt from the ground up to try and impact a new generation of gamers. For Mana though, many have wondered why the game hasn’t been announced to be coming to the Nintendo Switch.
After all, Secret Of Mana was created on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, which is one of the reasons it’s such a beloved game. So, why not bring it to the Switch? Especially since its the hottest console on the market right now. Well, Masaru Oyamada, the producer of the game, told IGN that bringing the beloved RPG to the Switch could be in the cards:
“When we originally started to develop this title, the Switch wasn’t announced at that time, and so we started developing for the PlayStation platforms. With that said, after announcing this, there has been quite a bit of demand for the Switch version. So, we are taking in that feedback.”
Oyamada noted that if the feedback was large enough, a Switch port could happen. But, as of right now, the game isn’t set to come to Switch. But again, that could all change if you make your voices heard.
He also noted though that one of the big reasons for the Secret Of Mana remake is because the team wants to make more Mana titles in the future, and this remake (which is of arguably the best game in the franchise) could help make that happen.
Guess we’ll find out how it goes when the game releases on PS4 and PC on February 15th.
