Many players are currently enjoying the closed beta for Sea of Thieves, which has been extended by two days, now lasting until Wednesday, January 31st. We have now heard some exciting features that may or may not be including in the full release, thanks to some datamining by Reddit user m4rx.
Though the redditor hasn’t been able to decrypt what these features are yet, the following image shows that there are a few more exciting things to be discovered:
According to the extracted game files, there are a list of animations under the ‘Prototype’ heading for a Kraken. These animations include ‘spitplayer’ and ‘waterdrunk,’ with the latter being a possible reference to the sound that it makes. Other animations also look to be reference to sounds made by the Kraken, or could even relate to its tentacles.
It also touches on ship customization, with the files suggesting you can alter features such as the cannons, mast, captain’s wheel, livery and the capstan. Mermaids are also listed as enemies, along with the Kraken and skeletons, as well as food such as coconuts, pineapples and pomegranates. It’ll be interesting to see mermaids in particular, as we have already discovered them from taking you back to your ship after dying.
Sea of Thieves will launch on March 20th on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.
