Bigmoon Entertainment and Camel 101 have announced today that Syndrome will finally release on October 6th on PS4, Xbox One and PC, and will also be compatible with PSVR, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
Syndrome presents a survival horror game taking place onboard the SPS Valkenburg, a deep space exploration and science ship riddled with claustrophobic corridors and other psychologically terrifying obstacles to overcome. Players will need to use stealth and evasion in this sci-fi horror to explore the seemingly abandoned ship to uncover the truth.
“Syndrome places you in a living hell aboard a deserted spaceship, with only stealth and your intuition to guide you as you start to find the bodies of dead crewmen”, explains Paulo J. Games, Game Director of Bigmoon Entertainment. “Be warned, as hardcore horror genre fans, we made sure the experience is truly terrifying – especially on VR – so give it a try and see for yourselves, if you dare.”
Ulimately, Syndrome aims to take the horror genre back to its roots, as many others such as Outlast and Resident Evil have tried to recently. Onboard the deserted spaceship, players will have to find the last few remaining weapons to protect themselves by whatever the dark entity is that lurks in the shadows. Whatever it is, we will find out for sure when Syndrome launches on October 6th.
