Rumors Say Amazon Is Going To Announce Its Own Streaming Service In 2020
Google Stadia is pretty much dead on arrival, but rumors say that Amazon may reveal its own streaming service in 2020.
What are the chances of Amazon announcing its own streaming service in 2020? After Google Stadia’s launch, I would say low. At least for now. Streaming gaming services just aren’t a smart move in this day and age. Mostly because internet providers have no initiative to increase the data caps for their consumers. Add in the fact that Stadia, for example, doesn’t let you own the game which you buy. It’s all very unappealing to gamers as a whole.
But, perhaps Amazon can do better. Not that it’s hard to do better than Stadia did before it even launched. Still, Amazon put its hands into many honey jars over recent years. They acquired Twitch. Now their gaming development team is working on New World, their own survival MMO which I talked about before on several occasions. Why wouldn’t this multibillionaire company try their hand at a streaming service? It’s all still a rumor, but according to CNET, this project of theirs will get announced in 2020.
I’m still not sure about this whole streaming service hype. Seems like a lot of companies are eager to try to conquer this new and fresh market without a plan to efficiently do so. Is Amazon the one to do just this? Who knows, these are just rumors, but I’ll be sure to report if I find anything more on Amazon and its secretive streaming service.
