WWE has built an empire on entertaining people with their wrestlers and superstars. But they know that to truly entertain all comers, they need to expand their reach, which is why for decades now they’ve been making video games. But in recent years, they’ve been focused on making the best wrestling games possible, and bringing in the biggest superstars to help cement the grandness of it. And now, Ronda Rousey is going to be in WWE 2K19 as a pre-order bonus character.
If you recall, Ronda Rousey was at one time the greatest women’s champion in UFC, but after retiring from the sport, she went to WWE, and even made her debut at Wrestlemania. Since then, she’s been working on the tour circuit to build up her ring presence, but she has had a title match already. Either way though, her coming into WWE 2K19 is not only a big thrill for fans, but a big honor for her. You can check out her reveal trailer here.
The voice you hear in the trailer is one of legendary wrestler Rowdy Roddy Piper. A big mentor to Rousey, and the man who let her be called “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey in the UFC. The jacket was his too, and he gave it to her to honor him by.
WWE 2K19 will also feature legendary luchador Rey Mysterio as a pre-order bonus character, so there’s really no reason not to go and get this game via pre-order, because that’s two epic characters you can now control.
There’s also going to be a $1 million dollar challenge, where if you win a competition, you’ll face the cover athlete for the game, AJ Styles in a match in 2K19, and if you win, you’ll get a million dollars.
It’s also been confirmed that the Nintendo Switch will NOT be getting a version of 2K19.
