Rocket League will be introducing a brand new party system, which will be initially tested on PC before making its way across all platforms. This feature will allow players to create a party without having to use the respective channels through each platform, such as Steam, PSN or Xbox Live.
After the testing phase gets underway, players won’t have to download anything, with PsyNet being the place where changes will be made. If this fails, then developers Psyonix has stated that the default settings will go back into place. This testing period won’t affect PS4 and Xbox One players, though they will still have the chance to play against others on Steam. It’s bound to be a bit rough around the edges at first, but given the chance it’ll be a neat feature to have.
There has yet to be an official date as to when this party system will be released into the game, though Psyonix has emphasized that it won’ t affect regular play. What will happen is the game will sync up with the player’s friends list on Steam, allowing them to create a party through Rocket League. Testing will take around a day, with later tests taking longer after the first phase of testing, which will take place sometime in autumn.
Rocket League is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
