The controller based Rock Band game known as Rock Band Blitz is set to be removed from both the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Live Martketplace next month.
From August 28th the game will be gone from these stores, after which it won’t be available for purchase. Rock Band Blitz launched back on August 28th 2012 on PS3, followed by an Xbox 360 release the next day. This isn’t something new to fans of the franchise, with the removal of Rock Band content being common practice due to licensing rights for the music often expiring.
Fear not, Rock Band fans. If you purchase the game before it does get delisted, then you’ll still have the opportunity to export the full 25-song soundtrack to use over in Rock Band 4 for free. Not only that, but all the tracks will be available for purchase individually in the Rock Band Music Store, which according to Harmonix have confirmed will “remain up until further notice.”
So if you struggle with the usual format of using the plastic instruments that usually accompany these games, then you should probably invest in Rock Band Blitz as soon as you can. You’ve got just under a month to do so before it disappears completely.
